The Birth of the BADMAN Button
The idea for the "Badman Button" came to me while celebrating my 30th birthday in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Surrounded by family and friends, I found myself discussing with my Dad how such a small island has made a monumental impact on the world through sports, food, music, and culture.
With my background in recruitment, I’m used to ringing bells every time a deal closes — a ritual that signifies a win. My Dad, having worked at Staples, was familiar with their iconic "Easy Button," which sold over 1.5 million units. When pressed, it would say, “That was easy,” turning every success into a celebration.
So, as we sat there, Dad asked: "If Jamaica had a celebratory button, what would it say?" Instantly, the first answer jumped out: “Reeeaaaaaal Badman.” which had everyone in the room bursting into laughter.
“Real Badman” is more than just a phrase — it’s a statement of boldness, confidence, and standing firm on your principles. It represents being a leader, going against the grain, and defending what you believe in. It’s a spirit found in anyone who strives to be the best, regardless of their industry.
I wanted to create something simple that would capture this spirit and inject it into every win, no matter how big or small. So, I invested in a custom mould to create a high-quality button that could handle all the excitement.
The first time someone outside the team pressed it and heard “Reeeaaaaaal Badman” echo through the room, I knew we had something special.
Use it anywhere, for any achievement. Next time you conquer a challenge, close a deal, or simply feel like a champion, don’t just celebrate — press the di ting and own every victory with confidence like a Real Badman.
